Bringing life back to form

Múz Spaans (1996) is schooled in both design (Sint Lucas) and fine art (Willem de Kooning). Combining his practical and conceptual skillset he develops projects that involve both mind and body. In his work he lets materials speak through their inherent qualities. His work is informed by their textures, patterns and unstable nature.

To create sculptures and installations from naturally occurring processes is part of his ongoing research. Being obsessed with the shapes of evolution in the broadest sense, from planetary to microbial, he figures out ways of using this as tools in the conception of his work.
